Fused Silica Rollers for Glass Heat Treatment
Fused silica hollow rollers can be produced by near-net shaping, high-temperature sintering and precision cold machining. Typical applications include horizontal glass tempering, float-glass transfer and annealing, steel-strip continuous annealing and large-format tile production. Which material is typically used for industrial ceramic rollers?
Fused silica is the primary option for low-expansion rollers used in glass and thermal-processing lines. Alumina can be reviewed for wear, insulation or other mechanical duties when the drawing and operating conditions support it.
Can you manufacture replacement rollers from an existing drawing or sample?
Yes. A current equipment drawing is preferred because it defines the roller body, end interfaces, datums and critical dimensions. A physical sample can support reverse-engineering review when dimensions and acceptance criteria are available.
Which roller dimensions and tolerances must be specified?
Provide body diameter, working length, overall length, wall section or bore, end geometry, straightness or runout requirement, surface finish and the relevant inspection datum.
What operating data is required for material and design review?
